El Segundo Slipt Stitchers

For March, let’s WIP Into Shape by working on KAL/CAL-isthenics. That’s right.  We are going to get our A-Long projects into shape!

It does not matter if you are working on squares, or a rectangle, or just doing your own thing for the year-long Blanket KAL/CAL.  President Sarah W is encouraging all members to participate.  She is even providing monthly stitch ideas for both knit and crochet squares.  Several members are already working on blankets during our Sit N Knit sessions.  Scour your stash, try to be a raffle winner or purchase a special color selection.  The point is to take on a major project that takes time (and patience) and we will motivate you to reach the finish line.

Kim B has announced the quarterly knit/crochet-a-long.  For Spring, she is encouraging us to make a shawl that is actually a half of a circle.  Citron and Critron are free patterns on Ravelry.  Follow the thread on the guild’s Slipt Stitchers group on Ravelry (click here to find it) and learn about how others are working the patterns and even making changes.  We will share our shawls at the May meeting.

If you are not participating in either of these projects, bring your own!  We will also have a group for those who are WAL – Working A-Long on their own projects.

For the March program, we will break into groups based on these A-Long projects.  You can get started, continue working, get help, or just enjoy what others are doing.
