Information about Meeting Changes

The program schedule for the September & October meetings has been revised. In September, Gillian B. will be teaching the Stretchy Cast Ons Revisited program originally scheduled for October. There is more information about that program on our Meetings page (click here) and in the September newsletter (which can be found here)! In October, we will continue our work on our Crochet Fleece Blankets under the expert guidance of
Cathy M.
Tonya’s Magic Loop program originally scheduled for September will now be taught in 2026. The November & December programs are unchanged
The updated meeting list is on the Meetings page (click here to view it)
At the August meeting, Cathy showed us some fleece blankets with crochet edging that she had made to demonstrate the method she was about to teach us. She also showed these two very handsome dog coats she made for her rescue greyhounds.
(You can see the extremely adorable pictures of her dogs wearing their coats and looking very stylish below and also on our Gallery page (click here).

Attie, shown above left lounging on the sofa is a retired greyhound blood donor. A greyhound blood donor is one that donates blood for other dogs in need. Greyhounds have O negative blood which means they are universal donors.
I got my greyhounds from the racing world, most hailed from the old Caliente track in Tijuana.
It was part of the North American racing circuit so we were really just repatriating US citizen dogs at the end of their racing careers.
Attie totally failed race track boot camp and absolutely refused to run. She found her purpose in life as a blood donor with Hemopet. She donated blood about once a month for a couple of years. Upon retirement she joined GreySave and moved in with me and my pack.
Don't worry, if you've had a recent blood transfusion, you won't have gotten any greyhound blood as it is for dogs only.
Besides, you'd be knitting at 40 mph if you did!
